Editorial policy

Our research standards.

We write about sleep, stress, and the body — topics where being wrong has real consequences. Here is exactly how we keep our guides accurate, honest, and worth your trust.

How we evaluate evidence

Not all sources are equal, so we weight them deliberately. When sources disagree, the stronger evidence wins, and we tell you when the picture is unsettled.

  1. Systematic reviews & meta-analyses — our highest tier, because they pool many studies.
  2. Randomized controlled trials — the strongest single-study design.
  3. Observational and laboratory studies — useful, but read with care.
  4. Expert bodies and clinical guidelines — for consensus and safety context.

We avoid building claims on press releases, single small studies presented as settled fact, or marketing material from products we might mention.

Our honesty policy

This is what sets us apart. We treat caveats as part of the story, not fine print to bury:

Sourcing & linking

Every health-related claim links to a primary or peer-reviewed source, listed in full at the end of each article so you can check our work. If we can't source a claim responsibly, we don't publish it.

On our use of technology

We use modern research and drafting tools to work efficiently, but every article is fact-checked and edited by a human against the original sources before it's published. We do not publish unreviewed, auto-generated text. Accuracy and genuine usefulness are the standard — not volume.

Updates & corrections

Science moves, and so do we. We revisit guides as new evidence emerges and show a clear "updated" date. If you spot an error, please tell us through our contact page — we correct mistakes promptly and openly. Getting it right matters more than being first.

Independence

We are supported by advertising, which is kept strictly separate from our editorial judgment. Advertisers never influence what we cover or what we conclude. We have no app, subscription, or product to push — which means our only incentive is to be genuinely useful to you.

Not medical advice

Everything we publish is for general information and education. It is not a diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for professional medical advice. For any health concern, please consult a qualified professional.
